The brief said no flash, no staging — just the night as it actually felt.
The challenge. A product launch in a candle-lit loft with a strict no-flash rule and 200 guests moving between rooms. Light levels fell all evening while energy rose — the two hardest curves in event photography, at once.
The approach. Fast primes wide open, silent shutter, and patience. I stationed myself where conversations pooled — the bar, the doorway, the record player — and let moments come to me instead of chasing them.
